Why did you want to be a Kruse Communities of Excellence Scholar?

My professional experiences have solidified my commitment to a career in public health that is rooted in collaboration across sectors which is a main tenant of the Communities of Excellence. Substantial shifts towards health equity require systems-level changes across several fields, from education to housing to medicine, and I know that the skills that I have learned during my time as a Kruse scholar will give me the skills necessary to spark that change. My future goals include dedicating myself to real and sustained health and racial equity work by working in the health policy field.
